Sunshine

Not for you to get sun tan.

Not for you to get hot in the heat.

Just a sunflower (the one you sent me on facebook) which I want to share with you to brighten your day and week and take away the Cold within you.

Have a blessed week, dear!

月亮代表我的心

Jazz @ CJW was different tonight. My first experience of a Chinese song sang by Sandra Kyles ( my favourite black jazz singer in CJW ), and i know this will only happen in no where else but Shanghai.

I realised:

1.Songs by Teresa Teng are timeless. They do not age with time.Sung in different genres , still brings back the same old feeling- love…

2. They bring people of different generations together. (  50s, 40s, 30s, 20s )

3. Chinese songs sounded even better than English songs when sung in the jazz. They accentuate the “feeling or experience” of the lyrics.

Was out at house of Blues and Jazz..i’ve only been there once…however jazz was bad…too noisy and the music was to loud…Jazz for the deaf…as stated by my friend so i suggested to change to CJW…a change that brings me a post here on our blog…

Good nite my sleepy head…miss u and just received your wonderful postcard..a card that is just like a Chinese classic song……constant…that does not change with time …on your well wishes for me….so u have to keep writing to me…………….

Of aching body and leg

With determination NOT to lose the bet, of course Edwin does not hope Fionna loses either, Edwin had went for a run on Monday night. The Ran (and walk) eventually took 45 mins which was almost the same time Edwin took to complete the same distance by walking. =(

Anyhow, nice to hear that you are having a good time with your parents visiting you there. Do cherish the precious moments you have with them!

A review, thus far

Dear Fionna,

I have just completed my third week in Qais Consulting. I am amazed at how fast it has been. 3 weeks has gone by already. It seemed only yesterday when I just began work. Work has been good. Not terribly busy, as I still grapple with the intricacies of the new industry. I’m understanding more of it each day. Now, with the move to our new office at the corner of Stanley Road and Telok Ayer Street (right beside Amoy Food Centre), everyone will be more focused and I would be pushing for more challenges in this job.

Everyone has been very friendly and kind towards me, since I am new to the company and also to the entire industry on the whole. This “newcomer” status usually only last a couple of months, before one is expected to simply know.

I saw a shooting star yesterday after dinner with my mum and my mum told me to make a wish sinc e I saw it. Just after I made my wish to be credible in the industry, my mum asked me to wish for my health. =)

I said, there’s not much I can do about the health thing and so far it’s still within control so I did not wish anything for it. Also, did not wish for anything for us, because I know with us – will turn out well. My only concern/worry at this point in time was making a mark or being good at what I am doing and so my wish was to learn, be good and be respected in this industry.

Spent a good day today at home reading. With a few lessons in my head, I also decided that it was time to start working towards the goal that we had a pact on. I put on my walking shoes and went out for some exercise. Since I was still having a slight cold and cough, and could not run, I decided to walk. I did a 1 hour brisk walk and although it wasn’t too tiring, it felt nice to be finally out in the sun and the open. Think I have been too couped up in office(s), home(s), mall(s) and etc … that I am not only getting flabby, but a little too pale.

Do enjoy the time over the next 2 weeks as your parents are in town!
