A review, thus far

Dear Fionna,

I have just completed my third week in Qais Consulting. I am amazed at how fast it has been. 3 weeks has gone by already. It seemed only yesterday when I just began work. Work has been good. Not terribly busy, as I still grapple with the intricacies of the new industry. I’m understanding more of it each day. Now, with the move to our new office at the corner of Stanley Road and Telok Ayer Street (right beside Amoy Food Centre), everyone will be more focused and I would be pushing for more challenges in this job.

Everyone has been very friendly and kind towards me, since I am new to the company and also to the entire industry on the whole. This “newcomer” status usually only last a couple of months, before one is expected to simply know.

I saw a shooting star yesterday after dinner with my mum and my mum told me to make a wish sinc e I saw it. Just after I made my wish to be credible in the industry, my mum asked me to wish for my health. =)

I said, there’s not much I can do about the health thing and so far it’s still within control so I did not wish anything for it. Also, did not wish for anything for us, because I know with us – will turn out well. My only concern/worry at this point in time was making a mark or being good at what I am doing and so my wish was to learn, be good and be respected in this industry.

Spent a good day today at home reading. With a few lessons in my head, I also decided that it was time to start working towards the goal that we had a pact on. I put on my walking shoes and went out for some exercise. Since I was still having a slight cold and cough, and could not run, I decided to walk. I did a 1 hour brisk walk and although it wasn’t too tiring, it felt nice to be finally out in the sun and the open. Think I have been too couped up in office(s), home(s), mall(s) and etc … that I am not only getting flabby, but a little too pale.

Do enjoy the time over the next 2 weeks as your parents are in town!
