Giving and Receiving<\/strong><\/p>\n

I launched a smile; far out it sailed
\nOn life’s wide troubled sea.
\nAnd many more than I could count
\nCame sailing back to me.<\/p>\n

I clasped a hand while whispering,
\n“The clouds will melt away.”
\nI felt my life was very blessed
\nAll through the hours that day.<\/p>\n

I sent a thought of happiness
\nWhere it was needed sore,
\nAnd very soon thereafter, found
\nJoy adding to my store.<\/p>\n

I wisely shared my slender hoard,
\nToil-earned coins of gold;
\nBut soon it flowed right back,
\nIncreased a hundredfold.<\/p>\n

I helped another climb a hill,
\nA little thing to do;
\nAnd yet it brought a rich reward,
\nA friendship that was new.<\/p>\n

I think each morning when I rise,
\nOf how I may achieve,
\nI know by serving I advance,
\nBy giving I receive.<\/p>\n
